An 18-year-old male was found with a gunshot wound to the lower abdomen along 20th Avenue Southwest near Delridge Way in West Seattle on Monday, after officers responded to reports of a man who had been shot. He was treated at the scene and taken to Harborview Medical Center in stable condition.
The man told officers he had been shot roughly two hours before they arrived, during a physical altercation at a barbecue in South Seattle. Police have not confirmed that account or identified where the shooting occurred, and no one has been named as having fired.
The Seattle Police Department’s Gun Violence Reduction Unit is leading the investigation. Anyone with information is asked to contact Seattle police.
