Driver Dies After Crashing Into Tree in South Seattle

A tragic crash claimed two lives in South Seattle on Saturday night after a vehicle collided with a tree near the intersection of 57th Avenue South and Martin Luther King Jr. Way South.

The fatal incident occurred around 9:41 p.m., when the driver lost control of the vehicle and slammed into a tree. Emergency responders arrived swiftly at the scene, but unfortunately, both individuals inside the vehicle were pronounced dead at the site.

Authorities have not yet released the identities of the victims, pending notification of their next of kin.

The Washington State Patrol has launched a full investigation into the circumstances surrounding the crash. Investigators are working to determine whether speed, impairment, or other factors contributed to the fatal collision.

Traffic in the area was temporarily disrupted as officials cleared the scene and began preliminary assessments.

Residents in the neighborhood expressed shock and sadness following the incident, noting that the stretch of road has seen its share of serious accidents in the past.

This tragedy serves as a somber reminder of the importance of road safety and the potentially devastating consequences of high-speed impacts.
