Authorities arrested a 19-year-old man accused of shooting a woman multiple times Friday morning as she tried to stop him from attacking her teenage daughter at their Snohomish home.
Investigators with the Snohomish County Sheriff’s Office say the attack occurred in the 7800 block of 206th Dr. S.E. when the suspect held his 17-year-old ex-girlfriend at gunpoint. The girl initially tried to disarm the man herself, but he then attempted to strangle her. The girl’s 38-year-old mother intervened, trying to pull the man away from her daughter, when the suspect shot her several times.
Medics transported the mother to Providence Medical Center in Everett. Her condition has not been released. The suspect fled the scene after the shooting. Snohomish County deputies searched the area with drones and K9 patrols, with assistance from Monroe and Snohomish Police Departments.

Lake Stevens police found and arrested the suspect a short time later as he was driving through that city. Officers obtained a search warrant to seize and search his vehicle for evidence. The man was booked into Snohomish County Jail and is likely facing several counts of assault, domestic violence assault and domestic violence kidnapping.
The incident highlights the dangerous escalation of domestic violence situations involving former intimate partners. The mother’s intervention potentially saved her daughter’s life but came at significant personal cost. Authorities have not released the names of the suspect or victims.
