The Pawtucket Police Department said one of the victims who was in critical condition after the deadly shooting at the Dennis M. Lynch Arena ice rink on Feb. 16 has died.

Gerald Dorgan, 75, died from injuries he suffered after his son-in-law Robert Dorgan shot and killed his ex-wife Rhonda Dorgan and adult son Aidan Dorgan at a hockey game. Robert Dorgan also died at the scene.

Gerald was brought to the hospital in critical condition alongside his wife Linda and family friend Thomas Geruso. The shooting occurred during a youth hockey game at the ice rink, sending families and players into panic as gunfire erupted inside the facility. Witnesses described chaos as people rushed to evacuate the building while first responders converged on the scene.

The incident marked one of the most deadly acts of violence in Pawtucket in recent memory. Robert Dorgan opened fire on family members in what authorities described as a targeted attack stemming from domestic issues. The shooting left multiple victims wounded and traumatized dozens of young hockey players and their families who were present at the arena.

Pawtucket Mayor Donald Grebien released a statement on Gerald’s death. “We are heartbroken to learn that another life has been lost as a result of last Monday’s senseless shooting at Lynch Arena. Our thoughts and prayers remain with the victim’s family, friends, and all those impacted by this tragic act of violence,” Grebien said.

The deaths of Rhonda Dorgan, Aidan Dorgan, and now Gerald Dorgan bring the total fatalities from the shooting to four, including the shooter. Police continue investigating the circumstances that led to the violence, though initial reports indicate longstanding family conflict preceded the attack.
