A woman has been arrested on suspicion of second-degree murder after a man was stabbed in Tacoma on Sunday night and died at hospital before officers could reach him.

Tacoma Police responded to a local hospital at approximately 8:30 p.m. after a man arrived with stab wounds, transported by a private vehicle rather than emergency services. The victim died before officers arrived at the hospital. Police subsequently located a crime scene near South M Street and Earnest S. Brazill Street, close to a Safeway store in the area.

Early Monday morning, officers arrested a woman in connection with the killing and booked her into the Pierce County Jail on suspicion of second-degree murder. Her identity has not been released. What led to the stabbing remains unknown.

Detectives and crime scene technicians are investigating the case as a homicide.
