A 2.9 magnitude earthquake struck near Oak Harbor just before midnight on Sunday, according to the United States Geological Survey, with multiple residents reporting they felt the tremor.
The USGS recorded the earthquake at 11:43 p.m. on 7 June, with the epicentre located approximately 1.24 miles east-southeast of Oak Harbor. No injuries or damage have been reported. Geologists note that damage from earthquakes typically does not occur unless the magnitude reaches 4.0 or above.
