Alaska Airlines has officially launched its daily nonstop service between Seattle-Tacoma International Airport (SEA) and Tokyo Narita International Airport (NRT), marking a significant milestone in the airline’s international expansion. The inaugural flight departed on May 12, 2025, utilizing Hawaiian Airlines’ widebody Airbus A330-200 aircraft, a move that underscores the ongoing collaboration between the two carriers following Alaska’s acquisition of Hawaiian Airlines.

This new route is part of Alaska Air Group’s broader strategy to transform Seattle into a premier global gateway. The airline plans to serve at least 12 nonstop international destinations with long-haul widebody aircraft from Seattle by 2030, with Tokyo Narita and Seoul Incheon being the initial additions .

The daily flights to Tokyo Narita offer travelers enhanced connectivity between the Pacific Northwest and Japan, with convenient connections to other Asian destinations through Alaska’s oneworld Alliance partner, Japan Airlines. Passengers can now book their flights through Alaska Airlines and Hawaiian Airlines websites.

This expansion not only broadens Alaska Airlines’ international reach but also enhances the travel options available to passengers in the Pacific Northwest, providing more opportunities for both leisure and business travelers to explore Asia and beyond.
