An Amazon semi-truck collided with a light rail track structure along State Route 599 in the Tukwila area in the early hours of Tuesday morning, partially blocking a southbound lane before a Sound Transit inspection confirmed no damage to the guideway.
The Washington State Patrol said the crash occurred at approximately midnight on SR-599, just north of South 133rd Street. The truck struck a portion of the light rail track structure but did not impact the station itself. The Washington State Department of Transportation reported the incident partially blocked the right southbound lane of SR-599 at milepost 1.
The final scheduled trains of the night were able to pass through the area safely following the crash. A Sound Transit inspection conducted at 6:30 a.m. Tuesday confirmed the collision caused no damage to the guideway. As of Tuesday morning, both northbound and southbound Link trains were running through the Tukwila area without disruption to service.
