The Washington State Patrol issued an AMBER Alert Saturday evening for a 4 year old Kennewick girl, Grace Susmilch, who authorities say was forcibly taken from her home, prompting an urgent, multi-agency search.

According to investigators, Grace was abducted shortly before 11 a.m. from the South Conway Place area by 41-year-old Matthew Susmilch. Officials said the child’s disappearance poses a credible threat to her health and safety.

Grace is described as standing about 3 feet 4 inches tall, weighing approximately 40 pounds, with blonde hair and blue eyes. She was last seen wearing white elastic shorts. Authorities described the suspect as having brown hair and brown eyes, with distinctive face, neck, and extensive body tattoos. He was reportedly last seen wearing a white tank top and blue jeans.

At the time the alert was issued, investigators had not identified the vehicle involved or the direction the pair may have traveled, though they believed it carried Washington license plates. Law enforcement agencies across the state are assisting in the search.

Police are urging anyone who sees Grace or Matthew Susmilch, or who has information about their whereabouts, to call 911 immediately.
