Bellevue police have identified a suspect in connection with a recent homicide near Southeast Eastgate Way and are urging residents to remain alert as the search continues. Investigators say 28-year-old Samuel Hitchcock is wanted in connection with the death of a 54-year-old man whose body was discovered early Wednesday morning near a commercial facility close to 139th Avenue Southeast.

Officers responded to the scene after receiving reports of suspicious activity. Preliminary findings suggest the man was killed in what authorities believe to be a targeted act of violence. Details on the circumstances surrounding the incident remain limited as the investigation unfolds.

Hitchcock was reportedly last seen in the Eastgate neighborhood on Tuesday, July 29, not far from where the victim was found. He is described as 5-foot-7 and approximately 125 pounds. Police have not released information about his relationship to the victim or potential motive, but they are treating him as a person of significant interest in the case.

Authorities are warning the public not to approach Hitchcock if spotted. “We consider this an active and serious investigation,” a Bellevue Police spokesperson said. “If you see him or have any relevant information, call 911 immediately.”

Community members can also share tips anonymously through Crime Stoppers by calling 1-800-222-TIPS (8477) or using the P3 Tips mobile app.

As of Friday morning, no arrests have been made, and the homicide remains under active investigation. Bellevue detectives are working to gather surveillance footage, witness statements, and forensic evidence to build a clearer timeline of events. In the meantime, police are asking Eastside residents to remain cautious and aware of their surroundings.
