After years of wholesale and online operations, Black Arrow’s Coffee has finally planted roots in Seattle’s Belltown neighborhood, offering specialty coffee enthusiasts a new destination for single-origin beans and signature drinks inspired by tradition.

Owner Daniel greeted customers at the shop’s location on the corner of 5th Avenue and Battery Street, where exposed wood beams and pendant lighting create a warm, modern atmosphere. The journey to this brick-and-mortar space took nearly a decade.

“Black Arrow’s Coffee started back in 2015 in San Diego, California,” Daniel explained during a recent interview. The company continued roasting coffee through wholesale and online retail before life brought Daniel to Seattle, where he decided to open a physical location in the Belltown community.

The shop focuses primarily on specialty coffee, providing single-origin coffees sourced from around the world alongside house blends designed for home brewing. For those looking to expand their coffee knowledge, Black Arrow’s also offers in-shop classes.

Among the most popular items on the menu are the specialty drinks that reflect Daniel’s personal history. The Cafe Con Miel, a honey cinnamon latte, stands out as a customer favorite. The Mexican Mocha holds particular significance as it draws inspiration from a beverage Daniel’s grandmother used to make during his childhood.

Beyond running the coffee shop, Daniel has become well-acquainted with Seattle’s dining scene. When asked about his favorite restaurants in the area, he didn’t hesitate. “I think Umi Sake is my favorite. I love sushi, so that’s a good spot,” he said, before adding, “Best pizza, best pizza, I have to say is Rocco’s, late-night pizza and the best bar.”

For a more relaxed evening in Belltown, Daniel recommended Roquette as “a pretty good spot to just chill and have a good drink.”

Black Arrow’s Coffee represents a growing trend of specialty roasters opening consumer-facing locations after building their businesses through wholesale channels. The Belltown shop gives Seattle coffee enthusiasts direct access to freshly roasted beans while supporting the neighborhood’s evolving food and beverage landscape.

The coffee shop joins a competitive market in downtown Seattle, where established chains and independent roasters vie for the attention of discerning caffeine consumers. Black Arrow’s differentiates itself through its focus on education, offering classes that help customers understand the specialty coffee world beyond simply ordering their morning cup.

For Daniel, the brick-and-mortar location marks a significant milestone after years of building the brand remotely. The Belltown community now has another option for specialty coffee, whether customers are seeking a comforting honey cinnamon latte or exploring single-origin beans from distant growing regions.

Black Arrow’s Coffee is located at 5th Avenue and Battery Street in Seattle’s Belltown neighborhood.
