A man and woman were hospitalized after a shooting inside an apartment building in Seattle’s Chinatown-International District on Tuesday afternoon, with police searching for two suspects who fled the scene.
Officers responded around 2:45 p.m. to reports of a shooting in the 2000 block of South Jackson Street. When patrol officers arrived, they found two victims with gunshot wounds inside a third-floor apartment. The victims include an adult woman who suffered multiple gunshot wounds and an adult man who suffered multiple gunshot wounds to the chest. Police said the pair are boyfriend and girlfriend and believe they share the apartment where the shooting occurred.
Officers provided medical aid until Seattle Fire Department crews transported both victims to Harborview Medical Center. The woman was listed in serious condition, while the man was in critical condition and undergoing surgery for what police described as “significant” gunshot injuries.

Investigators said two suspects, a man and a woman, fled the scene. Police said they have information about both suspects and are actively searching for them, though no descriptions have been released. Officers are still working to determine what led up to the shooting. Police believe both victims have some type of relationship with the suspects.
The shooting occurred in a residential building in the Chinatown-International District, raising concerns about the circumstances that led to the violence and whether it was targeted or part of a broader dispute. Police have not disclosed whether any weapons were recovered at the scene or if neighbors reported hearing an argument before the gunfire.
Anyone with information is asked to contact the Seattle Police Department. The investigation continues as detectives work to locate the suspects and determine the motive for the shooting.
