Dalton Rushing’s three-run homer in the fourth inning put the Dodgers ahead 5-0 on Thursday night at Dodger Stadium, and Teoscar Hernández added a solo shot in the sixth as Los Angeles closed out a 6-2 win and took the series. Mookie Betts had opened the scoring with a two-run double in the first.
Roki Sasaki held Seattle to two hits through five innings before running into trouble in the sixth, when the Mariners scored twice, one on a bases-loaded walk to Cal Raleigh. He struck out seven across five and a third and lowered his ERA to 4.64. Randy Arozarena drove in Seattle’s other run with a double.
Bryan Woo took the loss, giving up five runs on five hits over five innings with eight strikeouts. Rushing’s home run was the ninth of thirteen Woo has surrendered on the road this season. Shohei Ohtani did not play, resting a sore left knee.
Seattle won the opener 7-6 on five home runs before losing the last two games. The club returns home Friday, with Bryce Miller scheduled to face Minnesota’s Zebby Matthews.
