A stabbing attack Monday night in Burien claimed two lives and left a third person hospitalized, according to King County Sheriff’s deputies who responded to the South 152nd Street incident.

Sheriff’s deputies arrived at the 200 block of South 152nd Street before 10 p.m. following reports of a possible stabbing. They discovered one victim outside the location, who was transported to a hospital in critical condition. The person’s current status remains unknown.

The King County Sheriff’s Office confirmed Tuesday afternoon that two additional victims had died from their injuries, bringing the total death toll to two with one person still receiving medical treatment.

Investigators characterized the incident as “contained,” stating they believe there is no ongoing threat to the broader Burien community. This assessment suggests deputies may have identified the scope of the attack, though they have not disclosed what led to this conclusion.

The investigation faces significant gaps. No arrests have been made, and deputies have not released any suspect description or information about potential motives. The relationship between the victims and any potential perpetrator also remains unclear.

This incident represents a notable violent crime for Burien, a city of approximately 52,000 residents located between Seattle and Tacoma. The community typically experiences lower rates of violent crime compared to nearby urban centers.

The King County Sheriff’s Office continues investigating the homicides and urges anyone with information to contact them at 206-296-3311. The department has not indicated whether they have identified any witnesses or recovered potential evidence from the scene.
