Edelweiss Air has officially launched direct flights between Zurich and Seattle, marking a significant addition to the airline’s North American network. The inaugural flight departed Zurich on Monday and was celebrated with a ceremonial send-off at Zurich Airport.
With the addition of Seattle, Edelweiss now operates nonstop service from Zurich to four major leisure destinations in the United States, joining Tampa Bay, Las Vegas, and Denver. The new route offers travelers in Europe a streamlined connection to the Pacific Northwest, a region celebrated for its natural beauty, cultural richness, and spirit of innovation.
Flights will operate seasonally through September 15, 2025, with departures scheduled twice weekly on Mondays and Saturdays. The service utilizes an Airbus A340 aircraft, configured to accommodate 314 passengers across three cabin classes.
“Seattle is a city that captivates with its unique blend of innovation, nature, and culture,” said Bernd Bauer, CEO of Edelweiss. “For many travelers, exploring the Pacific Northwest has long been a dream—whether it’s hiking through national parks, discovering the islands of Puget Sound, or embarking on an iconic American road trip. Our new nonstop service offers a comfortable and convenient gateway to those experiences.”
Known for its dynamic mix of urban energy and natural splendor, Seattle is nestled between Puget Sound and the Cascade Mountains. The city draws visitors with attractions such as the Space Needle, vibrant neighborhoods, acclaimed museums, and a renowned culinary and coffee scene. As one of the U.S.’s most forward-thinking cities, it also offers strong appeal to tech-savvy and culturally curious travelers.
Edelweiss Air, a leisure-focused sister carrier of SWISS International Air Lines, continues to expand its presence in North America with a focus on connecting Swiss and European travelers to scenic and culturally rich destinations across the Atlantic.
Travelers can now book seats on the Zurich-Seattle route via Edelweiss’s official website and through partnered travel agents.
