Family Appeals for Public’s Help in Search for Missing Seattle Man
Seattle police are seeking the public’s assistance in locating Diangelo McKinney, a 28-year-old Lake City resident who has been missing since July 6. According to his family, his disappearance is highly unusual and has raised serious concerns because he left behind personal belongings, including his identification, passport, phone, and his two pet cats.
McKinney’s sister, Jasmine McKinney, became worried after relatives were unable to reach him and requested a welfare check before visiting his apartment on July 9. She found the apartment unlocked and discovered his belongings still inside, while his cats had been left unattended. The family also noted that there has been no known phone activity or other signs of contact since the day he was last seen, adding to fears that he may have encountered trouble.
Described as a familiar and well-liked member of the Lake City community, McKinney worked at a local Taco Time restaurant and was known for helping others, including unhoused residents in the area. His family said he was dependable, rarely missed work, and maintained close contact with loved ones, making his sudden disappearance completely out of character. Friends and relatives from across the United States and Canada have joined the search, distributing flyers and speaking with local residents and business owners in hopes of uncovering new information.
Investigators believe McKinney may have disappeared sometime late on July 6 or in the early hours of July 7. He is described as 6 feet tall, weighing approximately 150 pounds, and was last seen wearing a yellow “Chelsea” T-shirt and white slippers with smiley faces. Police are urging anyone with information about his whereabouts or any suspicious circumstances surrounding his disappearance to contact the Seattle Police Department or call 911, while the family continues to appeal to the public for assistance in bringing him home.
