The family of Robert Rathvon, a 35-year-old man killed in a December 9, 2023, hit-and-run in Poulsbo, is making a renewed appeal to the public in hopes of finding the driver who took his life.

According to investigators, Rathvon had been walking along the ramp from State Route 3 to NW Finn Hill Road when he was struck sometime around 1 a.m. His body was not found until roughly seven hours later, at about 8 a.m., leaving authorities with limited clues in the early stages of the case.

The Washington State Patrol and Crime Stoppers of Puget Sound say the vehicle involved has not yet been identified, and the make, model, and extent of the damage remain a mystery. Previous tips have given investigators small leads, but WSP officials say more information is needed to move the case forward.

“Any tip, even a small one, could be the missing piece that helps bring justice,” the agency noted in its latest update.

Determined to keep the search alive, Rathvon’s family has now doubled their reward offer, raising it to $50,000 for any information that results in the arrest and charging of the person responsible.

Authorities are urging anyone who may know something to contact the Crime Stoppers Hotline at 1-800-222-TIPS or submit details through the P3 Tip App. Tipsters can remain completely anonymous.
