On the morning of Sunday, May 4, 2025, the Seattle Fire Department (SFD) conducted a rope rescue operation to assist a man stranded on a steep hillside near Magnolia Park. The incident occurred at the park’s southern end, near 32nd Avenue West and West Galer Street.

Responding to the emergency call around 8:45 a.m., SFD deployed Ladder 10 to lower a firefighter to the individual’s location using rope techniques. The firefighter secured the man, and both were safely hoisted back to the top of the cliff.

The individual sustained minor injuries and remained alert throughout the rescue. The circumstances leading to his predicament have not been disclosed.
