Seattle police are searching for a suspect, confirmed 22 year old man, after a shooting in the Central District left the young man with serious injuries Sunday evening.
Officers were dispatched just after 7 p.m. following reports of gunfire near 23rd Avenue South and South Dearborn Street. Although they found evidence of a shooting at the scene, no victims were initially located.
A short time later, a man arrived at Harborview Medical Center suffering from a gunshot wound to the leg.
Investigators later confirmed he had been shot at the same location where officers had first responded. He remains hospitalized in serious condition.
Nearby Home Struck by Gunfire
Police said bullets also struck a home near 24th Avenue South and South Dearborn Street. No injuries were reported among those inside the residence.
Witnesses told investigators they sighted several SUVs speeding away from the area immediately after the shooting.
No arrests have been made, and detectives continue to investigate the circumstances surrounding the incident.
