Seattle’s Hilton Motif has reopened its signature rooftop restaurant, Frolik Kitchen + Cocktails, unveiling a redesigned space just as the city welcomed its first rainfall of the fall season.
The 4,000-square-foot venue now features 219 seats, with 132 outdoors and 87 indoors, making it one of the few rooftop dining spots in downtown Seattle designed to stay open year-round.
Located at 1415 Fifth Avenue, Frolik’s relaunch comes amid a growing demand for elevated dining experiences across the city. New additions like Firn, atop the Populus Hotel in Pioneer Square’s Railspur project, and Cantina del Sol on Capitol Hill reflect Seattle’s rising rooftop dining trend.
Renovations on Frolik began in May, with Seattle-based architecture firm Degen & Degen leading the redesign. Updates included a complete refresh of the interiors and the addition of floor-to-ceiling windows, creating a brighter, modern atmosphere with panoramic city views.
The Hilton Motif property has seen multiple brand transitions over the past decade. Once a Red Lion hotel, it joined the Hyatt portfolio before officially becoming part of Hilton in 2023, marking Hilton’s 10th Seattle location.
Built in 1973, the 19-story hotel spans 250,000 square feet, including 36,000 square feet of event space and 319 guest rooms, making it one of the largest hotels in the Puget Sound region.
Despite its changes in ownership and branding, Frolik has remained a popular attraction, known especially for its seasonal rooftop curling rink. The restaurant’s relaunch is led by Executive Chef Angel Huapaya, a Le Cordon Bleu-trained chef with extensive experience in Washington’s hotel kitchens.
Frolik will serve breakfast, lunch, and dinner, opening at 6:30 a.m. on weekdays and remaining open nightly until 11 p.m.
