Kent police are once again appealing to the public for information in a 2023 car theft that left a young child hurt after being thrown from the vehicle.
According to investigators, the incident occurred around 7 a.m. on March 1, 2023, in the 20800 block of 110th Avenue SE. A mother had been loading her four children into a car when a man suddenly approached, jumped into the driver’s seat, and sped away.
As the suspect fled, one of the two-year-old twins, who was unbuckled and still in a car seat, was ejected from the vehicle and landed on the ground. The child’s injuries were not life-threatening, police said.
The suspect continued driving with the other twin and an eight-year-old girl still inside. Authorities reported that he released them unharmed in a nearby neighborhood shortly afterward.
