Thunderstorms that swept across Washington have ignited multiple wildfires, prompting evacuation orders, highway closures and heightened fire concerns as hot, dry conditions continue across the state.

The largest blaze, the Kaiser Canyon Fire near Nespelem, has expanded rapidly, leading to Level 3 “Go Now” evacuation orders for nearby residents. Fire crews are working to contain several other lightning-sparked fires reported across the region.

State officials warn that strong winds, dry vegetation and rising temperatures are creating ideal conditions for fast-moving wildfires.

A Red Flag Warning remains in place, with the threat expected to continue through the weekend.

Authorities are urging residents to stay alert, follow evacuation instructions where necessary, and monitor local fire conditions as firefighters respond to new flare-ups across Washington.
