Seattle police are investigating a fatal shooting that claimed the life of a 20-year-old man in the Northgate area Wednesday evening.
Officers with the Seattle Police Department responded to reports of gunfire in the 2100 block of North Northgate Way at approximately 4:50 p.m., according to department officials.

Upon arrival, first responders discovered the victim in a hotel parking lot with a gunshot wound to his chest. Officers immediately began rendering aid before Seattle Fire Department personnel arrived at the scene.
Despite emergency medical intervention, the young man died from his injuries and was pronounced dead at the location.
Homicide detectives have launched an investigation into the circumstances surrounding the shooting. Authorities have not released information regarding potential suspects or what may have precipitated the violence.
