Jacob Royds, while riding his electric scooter, collided intensely into a King County Metro bus and as a result was rushed and currently remains in the intensive care unity at Harborview Medical Center.
The collision took place along Alaskan Way South at South Jackson Street on Thursday around 4:30 pm when rider and now victims Royds was traveling along the same way.
Royds was hit on collision and rushed to the intensive care unit of the hospital where it was declared he suffered from extensive physical trauma from the impact, including spinal injuries, several fractures, multiple broken ribs, two broken clavicles and facial fractures. Doctors have insinuated that he will face a lengthy recovery process. Despite each intense injury, he has gained conciousness and is also able to speak and breathe alone.
The incident took place 11 days after the victim and his wife just newly wed. The couple continue to express their gratitude for all the community support and encourage riders to exercise increased caution and safety while riding their e-scooters.
