In the early hours of a Thursday night, a man was stabbed while sitting on a sidewalk in downtown Seattle in what police believe was an unprovoked attack. Officers responded to reports of the incident at about 8:30 p.m. and found the victim at the intersection of Fifth Avenue and Stewart Street. Despite sustaining stab wounds, the man remained conscious, and authorities said his injuries were not considered life-threatening.

According to the Seattle Police Department, the suspect fled the scene on foot, heading east along Olive Way. Officers immediately pursued the individual and, after a brief chase, arrested a man near the intersection of Eighth Avenue and Pike Street. The victim later identified the suspect as the person responsible for the attack.

Emergency responders transported the injured man to Harborview Medical Center for treatment. Police have not released further details about the motive behind the stabbing, but preliminary investigations suggest the victim was randomly targeted. Authorities continue to investigate the incident.
