An adult son shot his father in their shared Parkland home Friday evening before barricading himself in a bedroom, prompting a SWAT and crisis negotiator response, according to the Pierce County Sheriff’s Office.
The call came in at 8:04 p.m. regarding a shooting at 421 142nd Street Court South. Deputies later confirmed the father had been shot by his adult son inside their home.
After the shooting, the son barricaded himself in a bedroom, prompting SWAT and crisis negotiator response. Negotiators successfully persuaded the man to surrender peacefully, and he is now in custody, PCSO said.
SWAT officers are breaking containment at the scene. No additional injuries were reported.
