Man Taken into Custody Following Fatal Shooting in Tacoma

Tacoma police have arrested a suspect in connection with a deadly shooting that occurred Thursday evening in the city’s south end.

According to an official statement from the Tacoma Police Department, officers responded shortly before 5:30 p.m. to reports of a possible shooting in the 5800 block of Pacific Avenue. Upon arrival, officers discovered an unresponsive adult male at the scene.

Law enforcement personnel initiated life-saving efforts before the Tacoma Fire Department arrived. Despite their efforts, the victim was pronounced dead at the scene.

Officers on site were directed to a potential suspect nearby, who was apprehended without incident.

Police confirmed that the individual, an adult male, has been booked into the Pierce County Jail on a charge of first-degree murder.

Authorities have not yet released the identity of the victim or suspect. The investigation remains ongoing, and further details are expected as the case develops.
