The City of Bellevue is growing as it extends its automated traffic safety program through the addition of speedy safety cameras at 4 different locations the week of August 17th. The locations cover areas of school walk zones, corridors with well documented history of speed-related crashes, hospitals, parks etc
The Speed cameras to be installed are a way to curtail the speed crashes which cause fatalities and grave injuries in Bellevue and are a proven method to reduce speeding. With speed being one of the top contributing factors to these fatalities and injuries, the cameras are designed to help change driver behavior, reduce speeding and make a safer road enviroment for all travelers in Bellevue.
