A new neon sign is lighting up Seattle’s Pike Place Market, marking the first large neon sign installed at the Market in nearly a century, according to market officials.

Seattle residents spotted the sign being transported on the freeway Thursday morning before it was installed later that day. The sign stands 16 feet tall and is mounted almost six stories high on one of the Market’s elevators, making it visible to drivers, ferry riders, and visitors along the Waterfront.

Market officials said the goal is to welcome guests and help people approaching the area know they have arrived at the right place.

The new sign is the latest addition to the Market in recent months. In October 2025, the Market unveiled the Heritage Display Project. The new exhibits tell the Market’s story through seven detailed murals and five kiosks.
