For three consecutive years, Seattle Children’s Hospital has successfully secured a spot on the U.S. News and World Report’s 2026-2027 Best Children’s Hospitals Honor Roll, which is an elite national distinction conferred upon only a select group of just 10 pediatric facilities nationwide.
Beyond this overall national recognition, Seattle Children’s was recognized as the top-ranked pediatric hospital in Washington state and achieved a first-place tier for the premier spot across the broader Pacific region, an area encompassing Washington, Oregon, California, Hawaii, and Alaska.
These commendable annual evaluations serve as an essential resource for parents, guardians, and medical practitioners facing the task of selecting high-caliber clinical care for young patients managing complex health conditions and life-threatening illnesses. Additionally, the commitment of the hospital to maintaining patient safety, continuous improvement of quality, and clinical success was evaluated by the ratings.
Reflecting on the milestone, Seattle Children’s Chief Executive Officer Dr. Christopher A. Longhurst emphasized the collective effort required to earn such recognition.
“Earning a spot among the nation’s top 10 children’s hospitals for the third consecutive year is a testament to every team member who shows up daily, with purpose and dedication. It takes our entire team working together to guide caregivers through complex medical decisions and deliver world-class care, confirming our commitment to our mission of hope, care, and cures.”
The organization achieved national placement across every pediatric discipline evaluated in the assessment, with four specific specialty areas ranking directly within the top 10 nationwide. These areas are Cancer, Diabetes & Endocrinology, Nephrology, and Pulmonology & Lung Surgery.
Institutions earning the “Best” distinction demonstrated strong performance in measurable patient outcomes, adherence to established clinical guidelines, and the availability of specialized hospital resources dedicated to patient care.
