Bey Muhammad, a 23-Year-old Seattle man, has been charged by King County prosecutors with attempted murder for attacking a man, leading to injuries so severe that the victim is still recovering at a rehabilitation facility. This attack took place on May 4.

Muhammed was also charged on July 28 for assault and pleaded not guilty. He was also charged with attempted first-degree murder that same day; however, the suspect was ordered to undergo inpatient competency restoration treatment, as the court found him incompetent to be tried.

He was arrested again two weeks after the hammer attack for destroying a neighbour’s door with a hammer. The hammer is suspected to be the same hammer the suspect used in the 4th May hammer attack; it was seized and has since been kept as evidence.

Muhammed is currently held in police custody on $2.5 million bail for the assault and attempted murder cases. He will be arraigned for the attempted murder charge on Wednesday.
