A 43-year-old motorcyclist, Tyler Shane O’Brien, has been charged in connection with a fatal hit-and-run incident that occurred on April 18 in Seattle’s Chinatown-International District. The crash resulted in the death of 57-year-old Min Huang and serious injuries to her 59-year-old husband, Xing Chen.

According to the Seattle Police Department, O’Brien allegedly ran a red light and struck the couple as they were crossing the street in a marked crosswalk. Surveillance footage obtained shows the motorcycle colliding with the pedestrians and then fleeing the scene. Min Huang succumbed to her injuries on April 20.

O’Brien faces multiple charges, including Felony Hit and Run, Vehicular Homicide, Vehicular Assault, and Driving While License Suspended/Revoked in the Third Degree. He is currently in custody on a Department of Corrections detainer and is awaiting booking into the King County Jail. Prosecutors have requested bail to be set at $500,000. A court appearance is scheduled for May 19.
