The police are investigating in Seattle’s Queen Anne neigborhood for a hit-run-driver that crashed and consequently killed a 30-year-old motorcyclist.

A witness from the Seattle Police Department called 911 to report a crash between a motorcycle and a car at around the time of 11:23am. A group of people standing at the site of the crash were also able to flag down a Seattle Fire Department truck that was driving nearby. The flag alerted firefighters to the injured motorcyclist.

Although the injured motorcyclist was rushed to the Harborview Medical Center by SFD medics, he died shortly after.

The police went to the scene of the crash at 6th Avenue West and West Nickerson Street to investigate. They were not able to get a hold of the primary suspect as the driver of the car involved in the crash had already fled the scene and was not located.

Detectives with the SPD’s Traffic Collision Investigation Squad will be leading the investigation.
