Seattle police are actively searching for a man accused of attempting to steal a $27,000 bracelet from Tiffany & Co. at Pacific Place in downtown Seattle. The incident occurred on January 29, 2025, around 4:30 p.m. when the suspect entered the luxury jewelry store and expressed interest in trying on a high-value, solid gold diamond bracelet.
According to police reports, the man appeared nervous during the interaction and quickly made a move to flee the store while still wearing the bracelet. As he rushed toward the exit, a store security guard attempted to intervene, resulting in a brief physical struggle. The suspect managed to break free, but not for long. A Pacific Place security officer nearby acted swiftly and was able to recover the bracelet from the suspect’s wrist before he made a full escape. The bracelet, valued at $27,000, was safely returned to the store.
Investigators have described the suspect as a man in his 20s, approximately 5 feet 9 inches tall, weighing around 160 pounds, with short dark hair. At the time of the attempted theft, he was seen wearing a dark blue puffer jacket with a white North Face logo on the chest, a gray T-shirt, black pants, black and white New Balance sneakers, and white Apple AirPods.
Police believe this suspect may be connected to a previous theft at another Tiffany & Co. location in Bellevue. In that incident, which took place on December 26, 2024, a man matching the same description reportedly stole a pavé bangle bracelet valued at $16,000. Investigators are working to determine if the two cases are linked.
Authorities are urging anyone with information about the suspect’s identity or location to contact the Seattle Police Department’s Violent Crimes Tip Line at (206) 233-5000. Tips can be submitted anonymously, and police are asking the public to remain vigilant as the investigation continues.
This case highlights a concerning trend in high-end retail thefts targeting luxury jewelry stores in the region. Law enforcement agencies in both Seattle and Bellevue are coordinating efforts to identify and apprehend the suspect.
