Players from the Seattle Torrent women’s hockey team visited pediatric patients at Seattle Children’s Hospital on Tuesday, bringing with them Olympic gold medals, hockey gear, and an afternoon of activities that gave young patients a welcome break from treatment.
Among those who took part were Team USA women’s Olympic hockey gold medalists forward Hannah Bilka and defender Cayla Barnes. The children got to try on Torrent hockey gear, take photos with the players, hold real Olympic gold medals, and shoot pucks in the hallway. The players also joined the patients in their art class, drawing and painting alongside the kids and their families.

Seattle Children’s said visits like these serve an important purpose for patients going through medical treatment. “We are grateful to the players for generously volunteering their time to help create these special memories,” the hospital said. The Torrent shared photos and video from the visit on X, writing that it was “always a wonderful time hanging out with the kiddos at Seattle Children’s.”
It was the second visit the Torrent have made to the hospital since the franchise launched its inaugural season last year.
