Seattle police are investigating a shooting that occurred Wednesday night near the Pioneer Square neighborhood, leaving a 21-year-old security guard seriously injured.
According to reports, dispatchers received emergency calls at 10:56 p.m. about gunfire in the 800 block of Western Avenue. Officers responding to the scene found the victim with a gunshot wound to the groin. Seattle police provided initial medical aid until Seattle Fire Department medics transported him to Harborview Medical Center. He is listed in serious but stable condition.

Witnesses reported that an argument occurred shortly before the shooting. Two to three suspects reportedly fled on foot and remain at large. No arrests have been made at this time.
The Seattle Police Department’s Gun Violence Reduction Unit is leading the investigation and working to determine the events that led to the shooting.
