Four people were taken into custody after an alleged armed robbery in North Seattle led to a police pursuit that ended in Kirkland, authorities report.

According to investigators, the incident began around 8:30 p.m. on July 11 when a 27-year-old man reported being robbed at gunpoint after leaving a restaurant near Northgate Mall with his family. Police say a green Kia nearly hit the family before following them. One suspect reportedly chased the victim on foot, while another pointed a handgun at him, threatened him, stole his sunglasses, and a second suspect allegedly assaulted him before the group drove away.

Officers later located the vehicle in North Seattle and attempted a traffic stop. Instead of pulling over, the driver allegedly fled, reaching speeds of up to 90 mph as the pursuit crossed multiple jurisdictions, including Lake Forest Park and Kenmore, before ending on Northeast Juanita Drive in Kirkland.

During the chase, police said someone inside the vehicle threw a 10mm handgun out of the window. Officers later recovered the firearm, and additional ammunition was reportedly found on one of the suspects after their arrest.

Three men ages 18, 19, and 24, were booked into the King County Jail on suspicion of robbery, attempting to elude law enforcement, and unlawful possession of a firearm. An 18-year-old woman who was also in the vehicle was identified and released.

Seattle Police detectives continue to investigate the case and are asking anyone with relevant information to contact the department’s Violent Crimes Tip Line.
