At about 9:29 p.m., there was a report of gunfire close to the corner of South Holly Street and 29th Avenue South. Seattle Police Department officers responded to this report.
The investigation has been ongoing, and the officers believe that two vehicles arrived at the intersection before people heard the gunshots. It has been stated by the authorities that the gunfire was exchanged between people in one or two cars in the street and the people who were in the park.
It has been reported that 40 spent shell casings were found by Seattle Police in the street and in a small nearby park. During the exchange of gunfire, five houses and three vehicles were hit by the bullets. Thankfully, no passersby were struck by gunfire or injured during the shooting.
It is unclear what led to the shooting; therefore, the Seattle Police Department’s Gun Violence Reduction Unit will be investigating the cause of this shooting.
