Two adult men are in critical condition after a stabbing in Seattle’s Chinatown-International District neighborhood Sunday evening, with police continuing to search for a suspect who fled the area before officers arrived.

Officers responded at approximately 6:49 p.m. to reports of a man covered in blood near 10th Avenue South and South Weller Street. Arriving officers found an adult male suffering from multiple stab wounds and provided aid until Seattle Fire Department medics arrived and transported him to Harborview Medical Center in critical condition.

While searching the area for a suspect, officers located a second victim near 12th Avenue South and South Weller Street, also suffering from multiple stab wounds. Medics transported him to Harborview Medical Center as well, where he remains in critical condition.

With assistance from the Real Time Crime Center, officers received information about a possible direction of travel for the suspect. Officers cordoned off the surrounding area and conducted a search with support from patrol officers across multiple precincts, an SPD K9 unit, and the King County Sheriff’s Office. The suspect was not located.

Detectives with the Homicide and Assault Unit are leading the investigation and working to determine what led up to the attack.

Anyone with information is asked to call the Seattle Police Department’s Violent Crimes Tip Line at 206-233-5000.
