Walmart’s Thanksgiving meal for 2025 is the lowest price offered since the retailer started the program in 2022.

“We know every dollar and minute counts, which is why we are offering a low priced, one-click Thanksgiving Meal Basket featuring iconic brands like Butterball and Stove Top alongside trusted Walmart private brand items,” Walmart President and CEO John Furner said in a statement. “We want every family to be able to share a meal and celebrate without compromising on quality, quantity and tradition.”

Last year, Walmart’s 10-person holiday feast came out to $4.50 per person.

Customers can purchase the holiday meal baskets beginning Tuesday and through Christmas Day. Walmart is offering three different curated meals, including a gluten-free Thanksgiving meal, Balanced Thanksgiving swaps and a Prime Rib meal basket.

Customers can pick up the meal baskets in store or delivered to their house. The company said that first-time pickup and delivery customers can enjoy free Express delivery on the meal basket, delivering to their door in an hour.

The traditional Walmart Thanksgiving meal includes:

  • Butterball Turkey, 13.5 lb. ($0.97/lb. — lowest price since 2019)
  • Kinder’s Fried Onions, 4.5 oz
  • Campbell’s Cream of Mushroom Soup, 10.5 oz. (1 can)
  • Stove Top Turkey Stuffing, Twin Pack 2 x 6 oz.
  • Great Value Dinner Rolls, 12 ct.
  • Fresh Russet Potatoes, 5 lb.
  • Fresh Cranberries, 12 oz.
  • Great Value Baby Carrots, 2 lb.
  • Great Value Corn, 15 oz. (3 cans)
  • Great Value Green Beans, 14.5 oz (3 cans)
  • Great Value Artisan Macaroni & Cheese, 12 oz. (3 boxes)
  • Great Value Brown Gravy Mix, 0.87 oz (2)
  • Great Value Pie Crusts
  • Great Value Evaporated Milk, 12 fl oz.
  • Great Value 100% Pure Pumpkin, 15 oz.

Walmart is offering its “1-click meal baskets” all season long, including:

Gluten-free Thanksgiving meal: A complete meal with all the favorite main dishes, sides and desserts—all gluten free.

Balanced Thanksgiving swaps: A mindful twist on tradition, featuring high-protein swaps like Goodles Mac & Cheese and cauliflower mashed potatoes and ingredients to make a high protein pumpkin dessert.

Prime Rib meal basket: All you need for a delicious holiday prime rib dinner, includes Choice Angus beef, salad, potatoes and wine.

The $0.97 per pound turkey price represents Walmart’s most aggressive Thanksgiving pricing since 2019, before pandemic-related inflation drove food costs sharply higher across all grocery categories, making the 2025 promotion particularly notable for budget-conscious shoppers.

The meal basket’s reliance heavily on Walmart’s Great Value private label brand, appearing in 10 of 15 items, allows the retailer to control costs and margins while maintaining lower prices compared to baskets featuring exclusively name-brand products.

The “one-click” purchasing approach simplifies holiday shopping for time-pressed consumers while driving basket size, as shoppers buying the complete meal spend more per transaction than those purchasing individual items across multiple trips.

Free Express delivery for first-time users represents customer acquisition strategy, converting online shoppers into regular Walmart+ subscribers or repeat delivery customers who continue using the service beyond the promotional period.

The availability of specialty baskets, gluten-free, high-protein balanced swaps, and prime rib, reflects demographic shifts where traditional turkey-centered Thanksgiving meals compete with dietary restrictions, health-conscious eating, and premium protein preferences among affluent consumers.

The program’s extension through Christmas Day expands beyond Thanksgiving to capture holiday meal spending across the entire season, positioning Walmart as a one-stop solution for multiple holiday gatherings rather than just November celebrations.

Washington state shoppers accessing these meal baskets benefit from competitive grocery pricing in a region where cost of living ranks among the nation’s highest, making Walmart’s promotional pricing particularly attractive compared to regional competitors like Fred Meyer and Safeway.
