An 18-year-old suspect, Walis G. Ahmed, has been charged with second-degree unlawful possession of a firearm following last week’s shooting at Roxhill Park. According to court documents, authorities are still working to determine who initiated the shootout, which involved four individuals. Surveillance footage reviewed by investigators suggests that three of the participants were firing at the fourth person.

Despite no firearms being recovered from the scene, prosecutors state that Ahmed and two others were visibly armed in the video, while the fourth individual was not seen with a weapon. Ahmed was previously convicted of unlawful firearm possession as a juvenile, making it illegal for him to be armed at the time of the incident.

Court records indicate that both Ahmed and the 17-year-old victim—who was shot during the altercation—had been under investigation last year for possessing firearms in a vehicle near Cleveland High School. While Ahmed received a deferred sentence in that case, the 17-year-old was not charged. It remains unclear whether the wounded teenager is still hospitalized.

Stolen Vehicle Alert: Green Jeep Cherokee

In a separate incident, a resident has reported the theft of a dark-green 1999 Jeep Cherokee with tinted windows and Washington license plate 988-YNV. The vehicle was stolen early this morning from an apartment complex in the 2400 block of SW Webster. Authorities have assigned police report number 25-73075 to the case. Anyone with information is urged to call 911 and reference the report number.
