Missing for Over a Year: The Search for Arlington’s Jonathan Hoang. Jonathan Hoang was 21 years old when he vanished from his family home in Arlington, Washington, on the night of 30 March 2025. He had never left without asking his parents first. He had never wandered. He had never given his family a single reason to worry about him disappearing. And then, in the middle of the night, he was gone.

Jonathan has moderate autism. His father describes his mental capacity as that of a 9 or 10-year-old. He is verbal and can hold a conversation, but he is unable to travel independently or find his way home. His parents hold legal guardianship over him, and at the time of his disappearance, he was still enrolled in an extended transitions program through his high school, working toward greater independence. He was, by every account of those who love him, a gentle and trusting young man who was happily living at home with his family. A five-day search and rescue operation following his disappearance found nothing. For nearly three months, his family heard nothing and saw nothing, fearing the worst.

Then, on 23 June 2025, Jonathan appeared on multiple home security cameras in Kirkland, Washington. He was on a street that shared the same number as his street in Arlington, visibly distressed and disoriented, as though someone or something had attempted to bring him home but delivered him to the wrong place entirely. He was captured on camera for approximately 30 minutes. After that, he was gone again and has not been seen since. The Snohomish County Sheriff’s Office, which holds sole jurisdiction over the case, has stated that there is no evidence of a crime. Jonathan’s family, friends, and the volunteers who have dedicated themselves to finding him strongly disagree with that assessment.

As far as those closest to him are aware, no active investigation has taken place. For a family watching the days turn into weeks and the weeks into months, the silence from authorities has been as painful as the disappearance itself. Jonathan is described as 5’10” and weighing approximately 135 pounds when he was last at home. He has distinctive moles on his face and a mole on his right arm. He will respond to his name and can identify his immediate family members. If you have seen Jonathan or have any information about his whereabouts, the family urges you to come forward.

A sighting can be reported directly at findjonathan.com, where you can also find printable flyers, media coverage, and the full account of his disappearance. The family also runs a TikTok channel at @findjonathanh, where they continue to share updates and keep his story alive. Jonathan’s family is not giving up. His community is not giving up. Someone out there knows something. If that person is you, now is the time to speak.
