Seattle-based tech startup Avante has officially emerged from stealth mode, making its public debut on Tuesday with the goal of redefining how businesses manage and optimize employee benefits.
Founded with a mission to reduce the complexities and rising costs of HR benefits administration, Avante is positioning itself as a next-generation solution in the competitive employee benefits software landscape. The company has already attracted a roster of enterprise clients, including Datavant, OneDigital, Real Chemistry, and Zscaler, as it scales operations with a growing team of 25 employees.
Avante’s platform integrates artificial intelligence to streamline HR functions and enhance employee experience. One of its standout features is an AI-powered assistant that provides personalized benefits guidance, aiming to reduce employee confusion and administrative burden.
Although Avante has not disclosed financial details or revenue figures, its early traction places it in direct competition with established players such as Workday, ADP, Rippling, Deel, and others in the enterprise HR and benefits management space.
At the helm of Avante is CEO Rohan D’Souza, former Chief Product Officer at healthcare automation firm Olive AI. Joining him is Dr. Carly Eckert, an epidemiologist and Avante’s Head of Innovation and Impact, who previously served as Executive Vice President at Olive AI before it shuttered operations in 2023 following the sale of its core business units.
The startup is also backed by a seasoned executive team, including Executive Chairman Kabir Shahani, known for his leadership at Seattle-based Amperity, a marketing tech company where he served as CEO prior to his departure in 2022.
Fueling Avante’s early momentum is a $10 million seed round led by Seattle-based venture capital firm Fuse, with participation from Ascend, HighSage Ventures, and prominent angel investors.
With its official launch, Avante aims to bring much-needed innovation to a space often bogged down by legacy systems and administrative inefficiencies. As employee benefits remain a critical factor in workforce retention and satisfaction, Avante is betting big on a smarter, AI-driven approach to reshape how companies deliver value to their teams.
