Seattle police made two arrests and seized narcotics during a targeted bike patrol operation in the Belltown neighborhood on Thursday, as part of ongoing efforts to curb street-level drug activity in the area.

According to a statement from the Seattle Police Department, officers apprehended two men, ages 33 and 32, following two separate crack cocaine transactions observed in the early hours of the day.

The first arrest occurred shortly after 8 a.m. when bike patrol officers identified a 33-year-old man known to law enforcement for a prior drug-related arrest. Upon detaining him, officers discovered approximately 3.6 grams of crack cocaine along with a quantity of cash.

Roughly 30 minutes later, officers observed another suspected drug exchange involving a 32-year-old man. He was taken into custody and found in possession of 1.3 grams of crack cocaine and more than $1,500 in cash.

Both suspects were booked into the King County Jail and face charges related to the possession and distribution of cocaine.

Police say bike patrols remain a critical part of their strategy to increase mobility, enhance officer presence, and swiftly respond to criminal activity in high-risk neighborhoods like Belltown. The department emphasized its continued commitment to disrupting illegal drug sales and maintaining public safety in Seattle communities.
