A $63 million sale of a luxurious lakefront mansion in Hunts Point has set a new benchmark for residential real estate in Washington, and the former owner is none other than billionaire entrepreneur Jeff Bezos.
Located on the prestigious 4053 Hunts Point Road, the sprawling 9,420-square-foot estate quietly changed hands recently, marking the highest-priced home sale ever recorded in the state. The property was purchased by Cayan Investments LLC, a private firm incorporated in Delaware, with a mailing address in nearby Medina.
Bezos originally acquired the home in 2019 for $37.5 million, which at the time also broke the state’s real estate record. Designed in 2003 by renowned Seattle architect Jim Olson of Olson Kundig, the residence is a minimalist masterpiece that blends seamlessly into its natural surroundings on the western shore of Lake Washington.
Tucked away in the exclusive enclave of Hunts Point—home to some of the country’s most affluent business figures—the estate features three bedrooms, four bathrooms, a rooftop terrace with a fireplace, a catering kitchen, an elevator, a two-story guesthouse, and a signature glass-enclosed shower extending into a serene Japanese garden.
The property sits on 300 feet of west-facing lakefront, offering privacy, breathtaking views, and sophisticated architecture that emphasizes light, space, and harmony with nature.
The residence was once owned by the late Barney Ebsworth, a well-known luxury travel magnate and art collector, before Bezos added it to his portfolio. The recent transaction was facilitated through Hunts Point Properties Trust, with local legal representation managing the sale.
Though now based in South Florida, Bezos retains ownership of additional estates in the Seattle area, including a 30,000-square-foot Tudor-style mansion purchased in 2010 for $45 million, and an adjacent parcel acquired in 1998 for $10 million.
Bezos has continued to expand his real estate holdings across the country following his 2019 divorce. In Florida, where he now resides with fiancée Lauren Sánchez, he owns neighboring waterfront properties valued at over $140 million combined.
This latest record-breaking transaction further cements Hunts Point’s reputation as one of the most elite residential areas in the Pacific Northwest, and highlights the enduring appeal of ultra-luxury homes in Washington state’s high-end market.
