An Alaska Airlines flight from Seattle–Tacoma International Airport to Redmond Municipal Airport was delayed by 1 hour and 20 minutes on Wednesday after a passenger made an inappropriate remark to a flight attendant during boarding.

The incident occurred on Flight 2030, operated by Horizon Air. According to Alaska Airlines, the passenger’s comment raised safety concerns, prompting the crew to deplane all 69 travelers and four crew members “out of an abundance of caution.” Port of Seattle security then removed the passenger in question and a traveling companion, conducted a full sweep of the aircraft, and found no prohibited items. The flight departed once the cabin was cleared.

Alaska Airlines expressed appreciation for passenger patience and commended the flight crew’s professionalism. No information has been released regarding potential charges or the identities of those removed.

This event underscores rigorous security measures in aviation, where even a single comment can lead to temporary flight grounding.
