Seattle is set to make history by attempting to break the Guinness World Record for the largest soccer lesson ever held. On Sunday, June 15, 2025, at 3:00 p.m. Pacific Time, the city will host this massive event at Pier 62 in Downtown Seattle. This ambitious attempt is organized by a collaboration of major local soccer organizations including Seattle Sounders FC, Seattle Reign FC, the RAVE Foundation, and SeattleFWC26, the local organizing committee for the 2026 FIFA World Cup.

The current Guinness World Record for the largest soccer lesson is held by the San Jose Earthquakes, who gathered 956 participants in 2023. Seattle aims to surpass that number by attracting over 1,000 participants for a 30-minute soccer lesson led by well-known local soccer personalities. The event is designed to bring together soccer enthusiasts of all ages and skill levels, uniting the community in a shared passion for the sport. Participation is open to individuals aged six and older, but advance registration is required. Those who do not register in advance will not be permitted to enter Pier 62, emphasizing the importance of planning ahead to take part in this historic event.

This world record attempt coincides with the “One Year to Go” celebrations marking exactly one year until Seattle hosts its first FIFA World Cup 2026 match at Lumen Field on June 15, 2026. The timing of this event is significant, highlighting Seattle’s important role as one of the host cities for the upcoming World Cup and celebrating the city’s growing soccer culture and fanbase.

The collaboration between Seattle Sounders FC, Seattle Reign FC, the RAVE Foundation, and SeattleFWC26 reflects a strong commitment to fostering soccer in the Pacific Northwest and creating opportunities for the community to engage with the sport. The event also aims to inspire young players and fans by connecting them with local soccer heroes and promoting the values of teamwork, health, and sportsmanship.

For those interested in participating, the organizers stress the importance of early registration to secure a spot in the world record attempt. The event will provide a safe and fun environment for players of all skill levels to come together and be part of a historic moment for Seattle and the broader soccer community.

More information and registration details are available on the official event page hosted by Seattle Sounders FC. This record-breaking soccer lesson represents not only a chance to be part of a Guinness World Record but also an opportunity to celebrate the city’s vibrant soccer culture ahead of the 2026 FIFA World Cup.
