A man suspected of fatally shooting a 40-year-old in Seattle’s First Hill neighborhood earlier this spring has been arrested, Seattle police confirmed this week.

The shooting occurred on April 2 at an apartment building located in the 1200 block of Seneca Street. Following the incident, the suspect fled the scene and remained at large for nearly three months.

Investigators released a public appeal on April 29, asking for help in identifying the suspect, who was believed to be armed and considered dangerous.

This week, the break in the case came when officers encountered the suspect during an unrelated stop for a minor infraction. After verifying his identity, police confirmed he was the individual wanted in connection with the April homicide.

The man was taken into custody and booked into King County Jail. He is now facing multiple potential charges, including first-degree murder, assault, and burglary.

Seattle police continue to investigate the circumstances surrounding the fatal shooting.
