Authorities are investigating a deadly overnight hit-and-run in Skyway that left a woman dead after a chaotic crash involving an RV and several parked vehicles.
According to the King County Sheriff’s Office, deputies responded late Thursday night to a report of a person pinned beneath a vehicle along the 11000 block of 68th Avenue South. A neighbor called 911 after witnessing the aftermath of a multi-vehicle collision.
Witnesses told investigators that an RV struck multiple parked cars and trucks along the street. One of those trucks was pushed forward and struck a woman nearby, knocking her to the ground. Emergency crews arrived shortly after, but despite their efforts, the woman was pronounced dead at the scene.
The RV driver fled before law enforcement arrived and remains at large. Authorities say the incident is being treated as a vehicular homicide.
The Sheriff’s Office’s Major Accident Response and Reconstruction Unit is leading the investigation. Officials have not yet released the victim’s identity, which will be confirmed by the Medical Examiner’s Office.
Anyone with information about the RV or its driver is urged to contact the King County Sheriff’s Office.
