Authorities in Bellevue are urging community members to come forward with any information that could help track down a 28-year-old man identified in connection with the city’s first homicide of 2025.

The individual in question, Samuel Hitchcock, is being sought in relation to the death of 54-year-old Jason Clark. Clark’s body was discovered on July 30, concealed in a patch of bushes near SE Eastgate Way and 139th Avenue SE.

Captain Landon Barnwell, who heads the Investigations Section at Bellevue Police Department, noted that although a week has passed since the incident, public involvement remains critical. He expressed hope that someone might have seen or heard something useful, emphasizing that the department will carefully review all incoming tips.

While detectives are withholding certain case details due to the ongoing investigation, individuals familiar with the area mentioned that both Hitchcock and Clark had been seen around a nearby supportive housing facility. Clark’s remains were found just outside an adjacent office complex, not far from that same facility.

According to the medical examiner’s findings, Clark died as a result of blunt force injuries to the head and neck.

Anyone with information about Hitchcock’s whereabouts is encouraged to contact Bellevue police immediately.
